Brief Introduction
In September,1986
the NCPES Preparatory Office was officially established. Then in December,1986 the College was approved by the government
(Legislative Yuan) to recruit students, and the NCPES was officially founded on
July 1,1987.
During the first year of the
College, only the Department of Sports Training Science and the Graduate
Institute of Physical Education existed ，In 2002 Department of ……was established。
Teaching Objectives
In accordance with
national collegiate educational guides and to adapt to international trends of
development of sports and physical education, the following objects are
specified:

To foster high
accomplishment of the best athletes.

To foster excellence of
outstanding sports techniques researchers.
l
To foster great coaching
development of professional coaches.
Features
Currently, the department recruits
students from four specific fields , tae kwon do, , judo,shootings, Chinese Martial Arts . Many of the elite athletes or players in
the Department have won several medals in the Olympics, Asian Games, and other
international competitions and championships
Courses
In order to promote the level of
sports skills, the curriculum design focuses on training for each kind of
sport. The application of coaching sciences by the coaches is also emphasized
in the hope to raise the overall levels of coaching and instructing of sports
skills.
In fulfilling the educational
objectives, the curriculum design is divided into four areas of general
educational courses, courses of major area of study, courses of programs of
study, and skills courses. Students will receive the Bachelor ’s Degree of Physical Education after having completed
a total of 132 credits with passing grades.
Sport team
Tae kwon do
The team currently has a total of
forty-nine male and female players. Coach Zong-shan
Chen, gold medallist in Asian Games, and Hwe-ting Tong, gold medallist in
World Championship work together in the physical training, skills training,
counseling, and guidance of the team. Since the establishment of the team,
thirty female and male team members have had represented the nation to
participate in the Olympics, Asian Games, World Championship, World Cup, World
University Games, Asian Cup, and other major competitions and won numerous
medals. The team has been the nation ’s
cradle of outstanding tae know do achievements.
Judo
The team was established in 1987,the same year the College was founded. Under the leadership
of Coach Jiunn-an Jih and Coach Be-yiang Ho, the
team has had outstanding performances in international and national
competitions. Many alumni have won medals in Asian Games, Asian Cup, World
University Games, and other international competitions. To raise the skill
